Although digital marketing has increased in its use over the past few years, there is still something to be said for the effectiveness and benefits of print advertising.
Advertising in your local community newspaper or in a magazine is a way to connect with numerous potential patients. And with the trend toward online, print media advertising can also be very cost-effective as newspapers and magazine publishers offer affordable rates to fill their pages.
Through magazines and newspapers you can target your audience more specifically as they will often have in-depth statistics about their readership such as age, average household income, location and spending habits.
There are two key things to consider before placing a print ad; relevance and consistency.
Your ad needs to be relevant to the reader. Putting the name of your practice in big, bold letters next to your photo and logo with very little substance for the reader will not get the phone ringing and appointment book filled. Your ad needs to grab and hold their attention.
You also need to be consistent. Placing one ad in a newspaper once will not achieve very much. A campaign with a series of ads over a period of time will build brand awareness.
